Protect their sight
Five signs your child needs an eye exam
- Frequent squinting — trying to focus by narrowing their eyes may indicate blurry vision.
- Sitting too close to screens — could be a sign of nearsightedness or difficulty seeing from a distance.
- Complaints of headaches — eye strain can lead to headaches, especially after reading or screen time.
- Covering one eye — may be an attempt to compensate for vision issues in one eye.
- Declining school performance — struggling to see the board or read materials can affect learning and grades●
Better vision for busy lives
Future-proof your focus
Between screens, night drives, and family life, your eyes work hard—annual exams keep vision sharp.
5 reasons to book your exam
- Sharpen your prescription — vision shifts over time; updated lenses keep work, reading, and driving clear.
- Tackle digital fatigue — address screen-related strain, dryness, and headaches with targeted solutions and task lenses.
- Prepare for presbyopia — in your 40s+, near focus declines; progressives, readers, or multifocals restore comfort.
- Catch silent health issues — exams can reveal glaucoma, cataracts, diabetes changes, and hypertension—often before symptoms.
- Boost daily comfort & performance — coatings, precise fits, and personalized recommendations reduce glare and eye strain. Consider sunglasses for outdoor protection●
Clear vision, confident living
Sharper sight after sixty-five
As we age, eyes change—often quietly. Regular comprehensive exams help manage cataracts, glaucoma, and macular degeneration, track health links like diabetes or hypertension, and keep daily life clear, safe, and comfortable.
- Track cataracts & AMD — monitor changes early and discuss options that protect reading, driving, and hobbies.
- Screen for glaucoma — pressure, nerve, and field testing detect damage before noticeable vision loss.
- Coordinate whole-health care — eye findings can reflect diabetes and blood-pressure changes; we share results with your providers.
- Sharpen vision for safety — updated prescriptions, anti-glare coatings, and proper fits support night driving and reduce fall risk.
- Relieve dryness & strain — tailored dry-eye care and ergonomic tips improve comfort for reading and screens●

When health conditions affect your eyes
Certain medical conditions can impact your eyesight over time, often without obvious symptoms. Regular eye exams help detect changes early and support long-term eye health.
- Diabetes — can damage blood vessels in the eyes and lead to vision loss if not carefully monitored.
- Cataracts — cause clouding of the lens, affecting clarity, contrast, and night vision.
- Glaucoma — increases pressure in the eye and can result in gradual, irreversible vision loss.
Our optometrist will help monitor and manage eye health concerns related to these — and other — medical conditions, guiding you through treatment, referrals, and ongoing care when needed. Contact us to learn more.
If you have a condition like diabetes, cataracts, or glaucoma, you may be eligible for a provincially covered eye exam once a year with a valid health card●
